Points Races will be run for each of the Tuesday’s in May, July and September. Sprints will be every 5 laps for 5-3-2 and 1 point for first, second, third and fourth. If you gain a lap you take 20 points and if you lose a lap you lose 20 points, but can gain it back. If you intentionally lose a lap we do not want you to sprint. Points races tend to be more difficult than scratch races because the pace is lifted every 5 laps, but it is a great workout so I hope we continue to see the good number of people showing up on Tuesdays. Thank you for making this series a success. We will stick to the same C (30 laps), B (30 laps), C (30 laps), A (40 laps), B (40 laps), A (50 laps) format.

To date, the 2008 Tuesday night series has generated $1,877 in revenue! 100% of the money goes to the track (and insurance). Thank you all for supporting the track. See you next week, Larry Nolan, Team Specialized Racing

Tuesday, April 15 Race Results

The Jen Coler-Marc Franklin cookie and brownie company continues to support the velodrome and the riders have much to be thankful for. Well, at least the ones that are winning the prizes! Thank you Clif Bar for the mini Clif Bars, and thanks once again to Michael Hernandez for his help.

The As turnout was low again so we let the As beat up on each other (they did) and then threw the Bs into the mix for the finale, giving the As little time to rest. So, the night started at 7pm and went C (30 laps), B (40 laps), C (30 laps), A (50 laps), A/B (55 laps)

Tuesday, April 1 Race Results

Tuesday, April 1, 2008 San Jose Track Scratch Race Results (not an April Fools joke)

Thanks to Joe Fineman for working out the Clif Bar sponsorship and thank you to Jen, Mark and Dash for baking the cookies!

Cs Brief Commentary:
- 18 starters in the Cs. 60 laps in 31 minutes for a 24.2mph average. 9 women and juniors fell just shy of having their own field, so newcomer Kalman Ziegler took and early lap, then hit the front and dished out the pain. He will be racing with the Bs next time! Good racing and training for the remaining riders.

Cs results
1- Kalman Zeigler, (Godspeed Courier) plus one lap
2- Rich Hill (LGBRC)
3- Justin Morgan (FresnOakland)
4- Kelly Bartholomew (Proman)
5- Tim Brennan (Cal Road Club)
Others- Hanan Alves-Hyde (Vanderkitten); Glenn Drummond (unattached); Dylan Drummond (Tieni Duro); Eli Tanner (Montano Velo); Sarah Clatterbuck (VeloGirls); Sam Bell (Team Awesome); Jeff Remer (Roaring Mouse); Christian Villasana (Team Swift); Eduardo Villasano (Roaring Mouse); Erica Donald (Velo Bella/ Kona); Linda Locke (Velo Bella/ Kona); Natasha Perry (Velo Bella/ Kona); and Arya Touserkami (unattached)

Bs Brief Commentary:
- 14 starters in the B race. 70 laps in 36 minutes for a 24.5mph average. I love watching the B races as the competition is usually a lot tighter and the racing is fast. Nole bridged up to Steven, Joel and Aaron and they gained their lap, then Steven and Nole went for another laps with Nole jumping across to the field before Steven. Steven persisted, as did Aaron behind him and all three had gained their second lap. Aaron went off the front with Joel at the end to seal the win over a fast charging Nole who flew from the field.

Bs results
1- Aaron Hunter (SJBC, plus two laps)
2- Nole Studley (Roaring Mouse, plus two laps)
3- Steven Mielich (SJBC, plus two laps)
4- Joel Shaffer (Team Specialized Racing Juniors, plus one lap)
5- Dan Turner (Morgan Stanley)
6- Martin Dare (East Bay Velo)
Others- Marten Allen (Montano Velo); Ben Stern (Roaring Mouse); Kelly Silberberg (Morgan Stanley); Tim Fehon (unattached); Joe Fineman (Penn State); Mike Krynolk (Alto Velo); Shaun Locker (ETNA Brewing Co); Marc Franklin (unattached)

As Brief Commentary:
- 11 starters in the A race. 80 laps in 38 minutes for a 26.4mph average. Yikes, this race is proof that an average speed does not reflect the racing that we saw. The changes in speed were just what the riders needed to get into great shape, but not all riders could match all the changes in speed and fast pace. This sort of racing has happened in the past so I am taking a closer look at changing the race format.

As results
1- Michael Hutchinson (Morgan Stanley)
2- Jesse Mendonca (Lombardi Sports)
3- Patrice Gagnon (Pen Velo)
4- Matt Tamel (BPG)
Others- Mike Audley (Team Specialized Racing Masters); Rob Evans (Montano Velo Track); Shelley Olds (Proman); George Meilahn (IC3); Brian Becker (LGBRC); Steve Reaney (Cal Giant); Don Langley (Morgan Stanley)

Thank you all for supporting the track. To date, the Tuesday night series has generated $889 in revenue! See you next week, Larry Nolan, Team Specialized Racing
