Tuesday, May 11 Race Results
Chief Referee – Jeff Wu
Thanks to Jen Coler for the brownie primes
$2690 has been raised for the NCVA through this Tuesday Night series so far in 2010. One more May race (May 25) and then we will see you in September as riders build up to nationals (and take a much needed break from road racing).
There has been a LOT of talk about crashes lately, mostly at flat and fast industrial park criteriums but I just wanted to note that we have not had a single crash on Tuesday night in two years. Funny thing is the scratch and points races are “flat and fast” but in track races EVERYONE is working. Besides that the racing is fun to watch. In the 1/2/3/Pro points race last night we 13 different riders score points. Exciting stuff. Thanks for supporting this series.
We’re so fortunate at our track! The juniors always ride and race for free (don’t forget to sign up for the Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwin BBQ on the night of the Tour of California stage number three as monies support the junior program); they are currently receiving expert advise from multiple USA National Champion Dave McCook; we’ve had the pleasure of racing with Panamerican Games gold medalist Shelley Olds, and last night Daniel Holloway stopped by to watch the action. I know I’m rooting for Daniel and his Bissell teammates during the Tour of California.
